Connecting an AI phone agent to Yeastar

Yeastar builds phone systems for small and medium-sized businesses, such as the P-Series and the older S-Series. Both support SIP trunks, which is how Tibinet's AI agent joins them. Your IVR or queue sends callers to the agent, and the agent transfers them back to your team.

Connecting an AI phone agent to Yeastar

Yeastar and the AI agent

The P-Series comes as an appliance, as software and in the cloud. The S-Series is the older range. On both you connect external SIP services with a trunk. Your handsets, numbers and menus stay as they are.

How the integration works

  • Register trunk with a username and password to the SIP address we give you. This also works behind NAT.
  • Peer trunk if your Yeastar has a fixed public IP address. We then recognise your system by that address.
  • Outbound route for the agent numbers and an inbound route for the transfer numbers you agree with us.
Trunk type
Register or peer
Port
5060 (UDP and TCP), 5061 (TLS)
Media (RTP)
UDP 10000 to 20000
Codecs
G.711 A-law (preferred) and µ-law; G.722 on request
DTMF
RFC 4733 (RFC 2833)

Every setting on our side is listed on the technical details page.

What your administrator does

  1. Add a trunk

Add a register or peer trunk using the details we send you.

  2. Create an outbound route

Route the numbers 85XX and 88XXXXX to this trunk. Every agent has a fixed number starting with 88 and, on request, a short number such as 8500.

  3. Create an inbound route

Add an inbound route for the transfer numbers, pointing to the right extension, ring group or queue.

  4. Set codecs and DTMF

Choose G.711 A-law and set DTMF to RFC 2833/4733.

  5. Make the agent a destination

Point an IVR option, a queue overflow or your out-of-hours rule to the agent's short number.

  6. Test

We check the connection, you call the agent's short number, and on request we call a transfer number with a test message.

Transferring to your team

  • Cold: our platform calls your Yeastar with a second call.
  • REFER (optional): we ask your Yeastar to complete the transfer itself. If that fails, we fall back to the second call automatically.
  • Warm: your colleague first hears a short summary, then presses 1 to take the call or 2 to decline it.

If nobody answers or the line is busy, the caller stays with the agent. The agent only calls numbers you have agreed with us in advance, and no call ever goes out to the public phone network over the trunk.
