Connecting an AI phone agent to Webex Calling
Webex Calling is Cisco's cloud phone system. You connect Tibinet's AI agent through your Local Gateway, through Unified CM or by forwarding calls to a phone number. Your auto attendant sends callers to the agent, and the agent transfers them back to your colleagues in Webex.

Webex Calling and the AI agent
A Local Gateway, usually a Cisco CUBE, connects Webex Calling to your own trunks. That gateway can also route to Tibinet. Your handsets, numbers and auto attendants stay as they are.
How the integration works
- Local Gateway: in Webex Calling, a trunk and route group towards your Local Gateway. On the gateway, a dial peer to the SIP address we give you for the agent numbers, and a dial peer back.
- Through Unified CM: if you run CUCM alongside Webex Calling, the integration can go through CUCM. See connecting the AI agent to Cisco CUCM.
- No gateway of your own (Cloud Connected PSTN): forward calls to a phone number of the agent.
- Port
- 5060 (UDP and TCP), 5061 (TLS)
- Media (RTP)
- UDP 10000 to 20000
- Codec
- G.711 A-law (preferred) and µ-law
- DTMF
- RFC 4733 (dtmf-relay rtp-nte)
Every setting on our side is listed on the technical details page.
What your IT team does
Dial peers on the Local Gateway
Create dial peers to our address for the agent numbers 85XX and 88XXXXX.
Dial plan in Control Hub
Create a dial plan and route group for the agent numbers, pointing to your Local Gateway.
Route back to Webex
Send the transfer numbers coming from us back into Webex Calling.
Codec and DTMF
Use G.711 A-law and dtmf-relay rtp-nte towards us.
Firewall
Allow SIP and RTP to and from our address.
Test
We check the connection, you call the agent number, and on request we call a transfer number with a test message.
Transferring back to Webex
- Cold: our platform calls your gateway with a second call.
- REFER (optional): only if the gateway accepts it. If not, the platform falls back to the second call automatically.
- Warm: your colleague first hears a short summary, then presses 1 to take the call or 2 to decline it.
If nobody answers, the caller stays with the agent. The agent only calls numbers you have agreed with us in advance. With forwarding and no gateway, transfers are cold, to a phone number.
